Mission Statement June 16, 2015
I am not so sure that the written word can measure up where art is concerned. However, a few notes as to my work. I use Strathmore 100% cotton paper from the 1970's, back when my future was limitless, I found this surface worked perfectly for my style of pencil work. I do not employ any tricks to complete my ideas---if I need to take a photo of something, it is not used to make my subject matter any easier to come alive on the paper, only to allow me the time to make it happen. There are no graphs, no overhead projectors, etc …. only my eyes and hands and the pencils that feel so comfortable in my right hand. It is my fervent hope that I might find a market for my work. I hope you are just as amazed as I am when I step back and a piece is finished. It is a wonderful surprise.

Since then, personal responsibilities became an overriding factor in my family life, and art took a back seat (hence the name). After decades of being on the road working as an outside sales representative in the natural foods industry, the company (who shall remain nameless) decided in their infinite wisdom to outsource the talented national sales force and so here I am back in the seat so to speak. The ability to do what I do was a gift, and perhaps it will allow me to follow a path that might have been laid out for me long ago, but was unable to take until now.
Best Wishes,
